Frequently asked questions

What makes your practice unique?

My practice is built on a deep commitment to understanding and supporting each client as an individual—not just as a set of symptoms. I take an empathetic, client-centered approach, ensuring that your treatment goals remain the focus of our work together. I believe that therapy should be both effective and empowering, helping you not only manage challenges like anxiety, OCD, and body-focused repetitive behaviors but also build resilience, self-esteem, and a greater sense of control over your life.

What sets my practice apart is my specialized focus on treating difficult-to-manage conditions—issues that many people struggle with but that have proven, evidence-based treatments.

Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other research-backed approaches, I provide practical coping strategies that can be implemented daily for symptom relief and long-term success. My goal isn’t just to reduce distress but to help you function better, feel good about yourself, and capitalize on your strengths so that you can live a more fulfilling life.

Who is a good fit for your practice?

My practice is a good fit for adults and teens in Bergen County, NJ who struggle with anxiety, OCD, perfectionism, trichotillomania, or skin picking and want structured, evidence-based treatment using CBT. Clients who do well here are motivated to learn practical skills and apply them between sessions.

What can I expect to get out of therapy?

Depending on the reasons you are seeking out therapy, what you can expect to get out of therapy differs. Generally, my clients are seeking clarity around a certain issue, want to break the cycle of bad habits, or need advice and counsel about a current life situation. Therapy is designed to help you gain clarity, reduce distress, and build confidence in handling what you’re facing. Together, we’ll identify practical strategies that make your day-to-day life feel more manageable and aligned with your goals.

How long does therapy for anxiety or OCD take?

The length of therapy depends on your goals and the severity of symptoms. Many clients begin noticing improvement within the first few sessions. For structured CBT treatment for anxiety or OCD, therapy often lasts between 12 and 20 sessions, though this can vary.

Will I be stuck in therapy forever?

Treatment plans are individualized and tailored to fit YOUR needs. You are a unique individual, therefore treatment is not “cookie cutter.” So the answer is, it really depends. Many clients complete focused CBT treatment within a few months. Others choose ongoing sessions for continued growth, skill refinement, or support through new life transitions. Most importantly, please know that you are always in the driver’s seat when it comes to therapy. We discuss what your goals are and we will do frequent check-ins to ensure that you are meeting your goals. Your progress is of utmost importance to me.
